A Regular Meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held on Monday, ; November 8, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building on Linden Street, Appomattox, Virginia with Mayor Spiggle, presiding.
Members present: Joyce Bennett, N. H. Mayberry, M. H. Mitchell, C. L.
McDearmon, Jr., J. L. Wilson, S. E. Lawson.
Others present: A. David Hawkins, T own Attorney, David T. Garrett, Jr., Town Manager, Larry Mobley, Christie Chapman, News & Advance, Chad Denton,
_ Times Virginian.
The Mayor called the meeting to order and asked for everyone to stand for an invocation.
Ona motion by Councilmember Bennett, seconded by Councilmember Lawson,
Council voted to approve the consent agenda. All members present voting aye. —
Motion carried.

There were no appearances before Council.
Standing Committee. Reports —
Street & Property Commitiee’— Update from Chairman S. E. Lawson regarding the size of the proposed street numbers for the Town's 911 address signs. He showed council members life-size examples of the finished product. More information will be forthcoming.

Ona motion by Councilmember Wilson, seconded by Councilmember Mayberry, Council voted to approve the Resolution to Oppose the Proposed 65-MPH Speed Limit on the Appomattox By-pass as written. ‘Ail members present voting aye. Motion carried.
On.a motion by Councilmember Mitchell, seconded by Councilmember
McDearmon, Council voted.to allow the Appomattox Christmas Committee to use the Train for rides on Sunday, December 5, 2004 from 2:00 p.m. — 4:30 p.m. All
