Work Session — February 2, 2004

A work session of the Appomattox Town Council was held on Monday, February 2, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. at the Appomattox County Chamber of Commerce on Main Street.

Members present: Joyce Bennett, W. H. Carson, N. H. Mayberry, M. H..Mitchell, C. L. McDearmon, Jr, Absent — S. E. Lawson.

Others present: Ronald-C. Spiggle, Mayor, David T. Garrett, Jr., Town Manager, Chad Denton, Times Virginian Newspaper and Roxanne W. Paulette, Clerk.

Town Council engaged in conversation regarding participation in a Public Service Authority with the Board of Supervisors (Appomattox County). Town Council desires to meet with the Board on Saturday, March 20, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. David will set up the meeting and advise Council of a final date.

Council is concerned for the Town citizens if a PSA is formed that the Town taxes, etc will be a burden in addition to the PSA.

The work session ended at 7:50 p.m.
