REGULAR MEETING – October 14, 2003

The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held on Monday, October 14, 2003 at 7:30 PM with Mayor Spiggle presiding.

Those members present: Steve Lawson, Joyce Bennett, C. Lewis McDearmon, Marvin H. Mitchell, and W. H. Carson. Absent —Norman Mayberry.

Others present were: Chad Denton, Times Virginian, Charles Garrett, William M. Phillips, Town Attorney, David T. Garrett, Jr., Town Manager, Roxanne Paulette, Deputy Clerk, and Bobbie H. Mullins, Clerk.

The meeting was opened with a prayer.

On a motion by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. McDearmon, Council voted to approve the ’ Consent Agenda with one addition; Item 2, New Business, Resolution for Designation of Applicants Agent, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

• Ona motion by Mr. McDearmon, seconded by Mr. Lawson, Council voted to set the Fall Clean Up for the weeks of October 27, 2003 thru October 31, 2003 and November 3, 2003 thru November 7, 2003, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. McDearmon, seconded by Mr. Mitchell, Council voted to adopt the Resolution for the Designation of Applicants Agent for FEMA. (see attached copy)
