Nays 0 Absent — 1 — Mr. Carson Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. McDearmon, seconded by Mrs, Bennett, Council voted to donate $2500.00 to the “Civil War Reenactment of September 13" & 14°”, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

Mrs. Gary Warmer came before Council to speak regarding their proposed “Retirement Development” on Route 26,

On a motion by Mr, Lawson, Chairman, of the Street Committee, recommends that a Street light be installed on Lee Grant Avenue as requested by John Spiggle, at a cost of $274.00, and all those present voting aye. Motion catried,

On a motion by Mr. Mayberry, seconded by Mr. McDearmon, Council voted to approve the two water connections on State Route 691, for Evergreen Homes because they are directly on the Town’s water line, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. Mitchell, seconded by Mrs. Bennett, Council voted to deny the request from Gary Warner for water and sewer connection for the proposed “Retirement Development” off State Route 26.

Bennett-aye McDearmon-aye Mitchell-aye Mayberry — aye Lawson -- Abstains Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. Mayberry, seconded by Mr. Mitchell, Council approved the connection for the new Fire House for water and sewer and waive any connection fees and all those members present voting aye. Motion carried.

Council agreed to have the “old street signs” sold on a day to be selected later on a first come, first serve basis.

On a motion by Mr. Mayberry, seconded by Mr. McDearmon, Council voted to approve David Garrett and Marvin Mitchell, to attend the Economic Development Conference on October 6-8 in Blacksburg and all those present voting aye. Motion carried,
