On a motion by Mrs. Bennett, seconded by Mr. Mayberry, Council voted to approve the use of Abbitt Park by the Library for July 20" from 10:30 until 1:30 PM fora presentation of “pet care” and to waive the fees, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Mayberry, Council voted to close the Town —

Office on July 5" as an extra holiday granted by the Governor and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

" Council discussed putting “No Loitering” signs at Abbitt Park and the Library parking lot

to discourage the congregating by groups. Mr. Phillips will begin working on an ordinance that will be enforceable regarding loitering.

Closed Session in accordance with Section 2.2.3711, Subsection A, item 7, of the State Code for the purpose of obtaining legal advice on a pending matter.

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that the Appomattox Town Council hereby certifies that to the best of each members knowledge: 1. Only Public Business matters lawfully exempted from open meeting requirements by Virginia Laws were discussed in the closed meeting to which this certificate resolution applies, 2. Only such public business matters as were identified in the motion convening the closed meeting were heard, discussed, or considered by this Council.
