Ona motion by Mr. Mayberry, seconded by Mr. Carson, Couricil voted to table NB3 until the next meeting, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

Ona motion by Mr, Lawson, seconded by Mr. Mayberry, Council voted to approve the request by the Chamber of Commerce to hold Five Friday Cheers at the Abbitt Park, waive the fees, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried. Schedule is June 21, 2002, July 19, 2002, August 16, 2002, September 20, 2002, and October 11, 2002.

Ona motion by Mr, Carson, seconded by Mr Lewis McDearmon, Council voted to convene in Closed Session in accordance with Section 2.2-3711, Subsection A, Item 1, of the State Code for the purpose of discussion of assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, disciplining or resignation of specific employees of the Town of Appornattox.

Carson-aye Mayberry-aye Lawson-aye McDearmon Motion carried.

Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Appomattox Town Council hereby certifies that to the best of each members knowledge: 1. Only public business matters lawfully exempted from open meetings requirements by Virginia Law were discussed in the closed meeting to which the certificate resolution applies, and (2) only such public business matters as were identified in the motion convening the closed meeting were heard, discussed, or considered by this Council
