Recessed and Reconvened Meeting - March 25, 1997
The recessed and reconvened meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held on Tuesday, March 25, 1997 at 7:30 PM with Mayor Spiggle presiding.
Those members present were: S. E. Lawson, Marvin Mitchell, Rick Pack, S. E. Carter, and Norman Mayberry. R. L. Bass-absent
Others present: Bobbie H. Mullins, Clerk The meeting was opened with a prayer. On a motion by Mr. S. E. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Mayberry, Council voted to amend
Section 70-275 of the Town Code, referring to Mandatory Connection to the Town’s Sewer System, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried. (See attached copy)

On a motion by Mr, Carter, seconded by Mr. Mayberry, Council voted to amend and reenact Section 50-36 of the Town Code, by adding Section 50-2 relating generally to Peddlers
and Solicitors of Charitable Contributions. (See attached copy)
Carter-aye Mayberry-aye Mitchell-aye Pack-aye Lawson-aye Motion carried.
A request by W. S. Slagle was referred to the Street Committee for their study and recommendations back to Council.
On a motion by Mr. Mayberry, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council voted to advertise their intent to adopt a Cable TV Franchise Agreement on April 14, 1997 and hold a Public Hearing at 7:00 PM and all those present voting aye. Motion carried. :
