Regular Meeting - July 8, 1996
The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held on Monday, July 8, 1996 at 7:30 PM with Mayor Spiggle presiding.
Those members present: M. H. Mitchell, Rick Pack, R. L. Bass, S. E. Carter, and Jimmy Mayberry. Absent - Steve Lawson.
Others present: Cindy Smith and Bobbie H. Mullins, Celrk. The meeting was opened with a prayer.
On a motion by Mr. Mitchell, seconded by Mr. Mayberry, Council voted to approve the Consent Agenda with one addition to New Business: 4. Tower - Fire Department, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
Mayor Spiggle presented the Committee Assignments for the new Council term. (See enclosed)
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Mitchell, Council voted to appoint S. E. Carter to fill the vacancy on the Appomattox Planning Commission representing the Town and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council voted to approve the water connectionfor Mrs. Josephine Morris on
State Route 677 and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
On a motion by Mr. Mayberry, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council voted to table Item 2, under New Business and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
Mr. Bass updated Council on the well status with the Town. We will be proceeding to connect Well 42.
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Mayberry, Council voted to approve the request to install a Tower at the Town Office for the Fire Department provided the necessary approvals are obtained and there is no probelm with the neighbors and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
There being no further Eee to come before Council, the meeting adjourned. —
