REGULAR MEETING - JANUARY 9, 1995
The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held on Monday, January 9, 1995 at 7:30 PM with Mayor Spiggle presiding.
Those present: R. W. Mitchell, H. W. Conner, S. E. Lawson, R. L. Bass, S. E. Carter, and W. H. Carson.
Others present: Cindy Smith, D. S. Nash, and Bobbie Mullins, Clerk. “s
The meeting was opened with a prayer.
On a motion by Mr. Carter, seconded by Mr. Mitchell, Council voted to approve the Consent Agenda with one addition to New Business: 5. Tour Dupont Race, and all those present voting
aye. Motion carried.
David Nash appeared before Council to discuss his proposal for ten more connections at his trailer park. Council reinterated their decision that we can not’: reserve capacity in advance, and he will need to ask for each connection
on an as need basis.
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council
voted to refer to the Street Committee the request for a Street Light on Morris Avenue between Lombardy and Dogwood Street
and the request for a cul de sac on Cawthorne Street, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. Mitchell, seconded by Mr. Carson, Council voted to accept the recommendation of the Property Committee regarding renovations of the Council Chambers and Storage Room as follows:
l. Recommend to renovate a portion of the Storage area into a 17' x 18' office for the Mayor.
Recommend paneling the Council Chambers
Recommend refunding the $5,000 that the County Board of Supervisors paid on the addition to the Municipal Building in 1978.
4, Cut and install a door between the present Mayor's Office and Council Chambers.
