On a motion by Mr. Conner, seconded by Mr. Bass, Council voted to grant the Conditional Use Permit to Cabell Insurance for a business sign on Court Street and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
Council discussed the mowing of grass on the Community
Center property by the Town Crew. It was general consensus of Council to continue mowing as we have.in the past which is our policy is to mow when the men are able to get to it.
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Mitchell, Council voted to accept the request from the Fire Department for a new engine on the Brush Truck at an approximate cost of $2000.00 of which we will owe 25% and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
In accordance with Section 2.1=-344 of the State Code, - Town Council voted on a motion by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Carter, to go into Executive Session to discuss
Personnel and Personnel only, and all those present voting aye.
Motion carried.
On a motion by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council voted to go back into regular session, and I, Bobbie Mullins, Clerk, certify that only Personnel was discussed and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Mitchell, Council voted to grant Gregory Broadwater a 30 day leave of absence without pay, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried. (leave granted beginning with May 15th pay period).
There being no further business to come before Coucnil, the meeting adjourned.
