WHEREAS, the Salary Committee appointed by the Appomattox Town Council met on August 2, 1993, and by Majority vote recommend that the Appomattox Town Council adopt the following resolution:

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Appomattox Town Council, Appomattox, Virginia, that,

a) Councilmen receive a salary of $50.00 per month to be paid whether such Councilman is ‘present at the monthly meeting or not;

b) Councilman receive $50.00 per meeting for each workshop session, special Council meetings, or committee meetings more than 30 minutes long.

c) Councilmen receive no compensation for recessed meetings or when two or more meetings are held at consecutive times on the same date, (that is, one following the other.)

d) The Mayor's salary shall be $200.00 per month. with no compensation for any other meetings of any kind.

On a motion by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council voted that the new policy on compensation of Council become effective July 1, 1994 and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. Carter, seconded by Mr. Bass, Council voted that we go through the proper proceedings to

get the property of Mary Anne Wheeler on Route 460 declared a nuisance by the Court, and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Lawson, Council

voted to refer to the Street Committee the Downtown Parking

problem, and alli those present voting aye. Motion carried.

On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Mitchell, Council voted to refer the Conditional Use Permit request from

Mr. Lawson, to the Appomattox Planning Commission for their

recommendation and all those present voting aye. Motion carried.
