Cindy Ranson, Nelwyn Morris, and Dot Davidson, appeared before Council to

request the Town's sponsorship for the 1988 Railroad Festival. They explained that money is a problem this year so they are having to plan more money making projects. The “Beach Party" is one such project. Council discussed the problem with insurance for this event.

On a motion by Mr. Hubbard, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council voted to adopt the following as a "Consent Agenda":

  1. The Comprehensive Plan. See copy in File.

  2. Resolution for Mrs. Earle Patteson Robinson-attached

  3. Resolution for Lee Street construction and/or maintenance in the State Highway System. - attached.

  4. Resolution - Inland Port of Entry Designation - attached.

Bass-aye Carter-aye Hubbard-aye Webb-aye Mitchell-aye Motion carried unanimously.

On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council tabled Item 3, Old Business; Parking Lot and all those present voting aye. Motion carried. . .

On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Hubbard, Council voted to amend the Personnel Policy to up-date in regards to Virginia Supplemental Retirement System and the Health Insurance, Maximun benefits per employee. (see attached)

Bass-aye Carter-aye Hubbard-aye Mitchell-aye Webb-aye Motion carried.

Tt was general consensus of Town Council that a Policy be established "Wwe do not lend of rent out Town Equipment, effective immediately, with memos sent to all Department Heads.

Bernard C. Proctor, P. E. the Town's Engineer appeared before Council to up-date the Regional Sewerage Treatment Project.

March 28, 1988 at 7:00 was set for a Council Workshop on the Proposed Sewer User Ordinance.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
