Mr. Britton reported that the State Water Control Board is now saying that they are approving all that May-Hines & Associates submitted. We will have 21 days in which to accept the grant and come up with our share of the funds.
On a motion by Mr. Carter, seconded by Mr. Noble, Council voted to authorize Mr. Britton to hold a Public Hearing, apply for the Block Grant in lieu of the F.H.A. loan, in conjunction with the survey to be performed and also authorize Mr. Britton to execute all documents.
Carson-aye Carter-aye Bass-aye Lawson-aye Noble-aye Hubbard-aye Motion carried unanimously.
A request from Mrs. Cawthorne for the Town of Appomattox to take over her Street light was referred to the Street Committee for study.
Items 2, 5, 6, 7, Old Business, 10-11-12, New Business, were tabled until the next meeting on a motion by Mr. Carson, seconded by Mr. Carter, and all members voting aye. Motion carried.
On a motion by Mr. Hubbard, seconded by Mr. Carter, Council voted to go into Executive Session in accordance with Section 2.1-344, of the Code of Virginia, to discuss personnel and all members voting aye. Motion carried.
Council reconvened in regular session at 10:40 P.M.
On a motion by Mr. Carter, seconded by Mr. Carson, Council voted to recess and reconvene on August 30, 1982, at 7:30 P.M. to cover the rest of the items on the Agenda, and all members present voting aye. Motion carried.
