ref: reel030607 date: 1981-02-09 content: On a motion by Mr. Conner, seconded by Mr. Hubbard, Council re-appointed Mr. H. B. Pack, Jr., and Mr. C. S. Booth, to the Appomattox County Planning Commission representing the Town of Appomattox, and all members voted aye. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Britton briefed Council on the Town's policy concerning past-due water bills. The question was referred to the Water and Sewer Committee Chairman's for their study and recommendations.
Mr. Britton also explained the Wade Toler water leak. The total bill came to $274.30. Mrs. Toler has requested an adjustment on this bill.
On a motion by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mr. Carson, Council voted to follow the Town's policy and deny the request for an adjustment for Wade Toler, and all members voted aye. Motion carried.
Items 8, and 9, New Business, were referred to the reconvened meeting on February 25, 1981.
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Noble, Council approved the execution of the Contract for Cathodic Protection on the new Water Storage Tank, and all members voted aye. Motion carried.
Mayor Spiggle briefed Council on the Business and Professional License tax. It has been suggested that these people are merchants in a sense, and they should be changed accordingly.
