Mayor Spiggle presented a letter from the Highway Department stating that they will be purchasing right-of-way at the Ball Park property. This was referred to the Property Committee for their study.
It was the general consensus of Council that the Town Manager continue to handle the A-95 Reviews for Council as they feel this procedure is working at this time.
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Carson, Council authorized Mr. Britton to try for a HUD Grant for the waterworks for the Town of Appomattox only, and all members voted aye. Motion carried.
On a motion by Mr. Carson seconded by Mr. Noble, Council voted to go into Executive Session and all voted aye, in accordance with Section 2.1-344., of the State Code.
Council reconvened in regular session at 9:30 P.M.
Mr. Conner made the motion, seconded by Mr. Noble for Council to accept the County's portion of W. R. Britton's salary plus the $2000.00 extra from the Board of Supervisors making the County's share a total of $9,659.64 which is added to Britton's salary making a total of $24,059.64.
