A Public Hearing on the Appomattox Wastewater Facility was held on Monday, August 23, 1979, at 7:30 P.M. with Vice-Mayor Bass presiding.

Council Members present were: T. W. Lawson, S. E. Carter, R. C. Hubbard, and M. E. Gordon. Mayor Spriggle came in late.

Citizens present were: C. S. Booth, Louise Barger, Harriett Cunningham, Zebulon Saunders, James C. Rogers, Mr. & Mrs. Harold T. Nash, Sr., Ray Noble, Ivey Holland, George Cheatham, Lloyd Vaughan.

Others present were: Beck Hudson, Reporter, B. H. Mullins, Clerk, Town Manager W. R. Britton, Jr., Dr. James C. May and Bill Berkley, May-Hines & Associates, and Town Attorney Sam Kerr.

Mr. Britton gave a brief synopsis of the history on the Wastewater Facility and how we got to where we are now. He explained why we need to build a new Wastewater Facility and what the proposed costs will be per connection at estimated 650 connections for the Town.

The floor was then turned over to the citizens for their questions.

Several of the citizens present asked questions of Mr. Britton, and the Engineers, Dr. May & Bill Berkley.
