ref: reel030288 date: 1977-12-12 content: The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held on Monday, December 12, 1977 at 9:30 P.M. with Mayor H. B. Pack presiding.
Members present were R. L. Bass, M. J. House, Jr., R. C. Hubbard, R. C. Spiggle, and F. E. Conner.
Those also attending were Thomas W. Lawson, Attorney and S. B. Waddell, Chairman, Appomattox County Planning Commission.
The meeting was opened with a prayer.
The reading of the minutes were dispensed with at this time to hear the visitors.
Mr. Lawson appeared before Council to request that the Town revise the Town Zoning Ordinance. He felt that certain sections and definitions needed to be clarified. No action was taken at this time.
Mr. Waddell requested that in the future the Planning Commission be given the opportunity to discuss a request for rezoning before the public hearings are held. Council felt that this was the proper procedure and that it would be done in the future.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read.
The minutes of the Special Called Meeting of Council was read and approved as read.
A request from Flippo's for a 30 day extension of time on their completion date of December 15th, 1977 was granted on a motion by Mr. House and seconded by Mr. Hubbard, with all members voting yes. Motion carried unanimously.
Council recessed and continued the Council meeting at this time until next Monday night at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Office.
