ref: reel020688 date: 1973-06-01 content: Slagle advised the Council that it can either extend the Southern Building Code Congress for 2 years or go with the uniform Statewide Building Code. Council expressed their desire to proceed with the implementation of the new Statewide Building Code and suggested Mr. Slagle attend the training session to be held, and report back to them.
Mr. Holland made the motion, Mrs. Robinson seconded that Mr. Slagle be reimbursed for mileage and expenses when attending these meetings for the Town. Motion carried.
Motion made by Mr. Conner, seconded by Holland to adopt the following resolution and present it to the Board of Supervisors.
WHEREAS, the Appomattox Town Council is vitally concerned with the control of rabies; and
AND WHEREAS, It has come to the attention of the Council that cases of rabies have been reported in the adjoining County; and
AND WHEREAS, Roving bands of stray dogs have been reported in Appomattox County; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, That the Appomattox Town Council requests that the Appomattox County Board of Supervisors make provisions to strictly enforce the dog quarantine until June 15, 1973.
Motion carried.
