Council voted to send Mr. Britton to an E.P.A. School on Sewerage Treatment Plant Operation in Philadelphia on a motion by Mr. Conner, seconded by Mr. Spiggle, and all members voting yes.
On a motion by Mr. Bass, seconded by Mr. Hubbard, with all members voting yes, to authorize Mr. Britton to check into hiring an individual to help the Superintendent of Public Works.
Council decided they were not interested in renting or leasing Mr. Lair's property on the corner of Church Street and Linden Street.
Mr. Britton explained the Emergency Services program to Council. He also reported that the County has appointed him as Civil Defense Coordinator subject to the Town's Appointment. On a motion by Mr. Spiggle, seconded by Mr. Conner, Council appointed Mr. Britton as Civil Defense Coordinator for the Town Of Appomattox, and all members voted yes.
