ref: reel020612 date: 1972-04-17 content: The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held on Monday, April 17, 1972 at 7:30 P.M. in the Council Room. Mayor H. B. Pack presiding.
Members present: Mrs. Robinson, Burke Guill, T. E. Conner, M. L. Webb, and R. C. Hubbard.
The meeting was opened with a prayer.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
A discussion was held on the two-way radios.
Conner requested that a check be made to see if the Town owns an unopened portion of Ethel St.
The Mayor ordered the period of April 25 to May 5 to be the annual Clean-up period.
Mrs. Robinson moved and Hubbard seconded that Mr. Clyde V. Campbell be allowed to pump his sewage into the Town lines provided it is done in accordance with the Town specifications. Motion carried.
A discussion of whether to install the sewer and water lines for the new school and allow the School Board to repay the Town on an annual basis was held. The Mayor will discuss this with the school authorities.
Hubbard, Webb, and Mayor Pack praised the work being done by the Police Department. Conner requested that the radar be used 5 hours each week.
The Mayor announced that he had received the Town Manager's resignation.
