ref: reel020511 date: 1968-04-15 content: The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held in the Council Room on April 15, 1968 at 7:30 p.m. with Mayor H. B. Pack presiding.
Members present: Mrs. Calvin Robinson, R. L. Bass, Burke Guill, Ivey Holland, and R. C. Hubbard.
The meeting was opened with a prayer.
Bass reported that the firemen needed one more set of a coat and helmet. Holland moved, and Hubbard seconded: That the coat and helmet be purchased. Motion carried.
A discussion was held on the Sanitary Fill. It was decided that the fences should be extended to catch more of the trash that blows off of the Town property.
The final bill from the State Highway Department for sewer and sidewalks on Confederate Boulevard was presented. Bass moved and Mrs. Robinson seconded that it be paid. The amount is $6,551.63. Motion carried.
Mrs. Robinson requested that the week starting April 22 be designated as “Clean-Up Week”. The request was granted.
The meeting adjourned.
