ref: reel020470 date: 1967-10-16 content: The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held in the Council Room on October 16, 1967, at 7:30 P.M., with Mayor H. B. Pack presiding.
The following members were present: Mrs. Calvin Robinson, R. L. Bass, Burke Guill, Ivey Holland, and Martin L. Webb.
The meeting was opened with a prayer.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
The application for a building permit for an addition to the Webb Tire Service building on Confederate Boulevard was approved.
Motion made by Holland and seconded by Bass, that Mrs. Calvin Robinson be elected Vice-Mayor was unanimously carried.
Mayor Pack presented the "Proposed Subdivision Ordinance for Appomattox County, the Town of Appomattox, and the Town of Pamplin, Virginia" and explained that the Appomattox County Planning Commission had requested that the governing bodies hold public hearings prior to possible adoption of it. He announced that the County Board of Supervisors will advertise it.
Bass moved and Mrs. Robinson seconded: "That a public hearing be advertised and held with final action by the Council to be taken after the hearing." Motion carried.
The Council accepted the statement of J. T. Guill that he had paid the Tastee Freeze tax for 1961, and ordered it taken off the books.
The meeting was adjourned.
