ref: reel020432 date: 1966-06-06 content: Special Meeting The special meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's office, on Monday, June 6, 1966, at 7:30 P.M., with Mayor H. B. Pack presiding. Mrs. Pat Johnson was acting clerk. The following members were present: Mrs. Calvin Robinson, Mr. Ivey Holland, Mr. Richard Wingfield, Mr. Dick Bass, Mr. Burke Guill, and Mr. R. C. Hubbard. Motion was made by Mr. R. C. Hubbard that Mr. Harold Nash receive a salary of $1,500 a year and that he be made Superintendent of Public Works. Seconded by Mr. Burke Guill. Motion Passed. Motion was made by Mr. Ivey Holland that the Mayor negotiate with Mr. Si Booth to fill the vacancy of Town Manager for a salary not to exceed that amount set up in the budget for the town manager's salary. Seconded by Mr. Richard Wingfield. Motion Passed. Motion was made by Mrs. Calvin Robinson and seconded by Mr. R. C. Hubbard to employ a secretary for summer help at $1.00 an hour. Motion Passed. Motion was made by Mr. R. C. Hubbard that the council express sincere thanks and appreciation to the mayor during this interim without a town manager. Seconded by Mr. Dick Bass. Motion passed.
