ref: reel020420 date: 1965-06-21 content: The regular meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's office on June 21, 1965 at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor, S. R. Lawson presiding. The following members were present: Mrs. C. H. Robinson; Ivey Holland; Burke Guilli; T. R. Gilbert; and Dick Wingfield. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Motion made by Dick Wingfield; second by T. R. Gilbert. That the Town pay up to $300.00 on a well at the Ball Park. Motion carried. Motion made by Burke Guilli; second by Ivey Holland. That the Town lower the minimum water consumption from 3500 gallons to 2500 gallons per month at $2.25 and over 2500 - will be .50 cents per thousand gallons and water bills will be made on a bi-monthly basis. Effective with August bills the first bill will be mailed October 1, 1965. Motion carried. Motion made by Burke Guilli; second by Mrs. C. H. Robinson. That the Town request the owners of all apartments houses to pay the full water bill. Motion Carried. Motion made by Ivey Holland; second by Dick Wingfield. That the Town authorize the Mayor to sign the contract pertaining to Confederate Blvd. from Church Street, east to the corporate limits of the Town of Appomattox provided the Town share of this project does not exceed 7,174.80. JULY MEETING The regular meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's office on July 19, 1965 at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor, S. R. Lawson presiding. The following members were present: Mrs. C. H. Robinson; Burke Guilli; Dick Wingfield; and Ivey Holland. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Motion made by Dick Wingfield; second by Burke Guilli. That the council empowers the office of the Mayor to negotiate with the Board of Supervisors on maintenance of the cost of the Civil War Centennial Building with the understanding that the Town proportion share of the deficit maintenance not to exceed 40% of the cost.
