The regular meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on May 18, 1964, at 7:30 P.M., with Mayor S. R. Lawson presiding.
The following members were present: Burke Guill, H.B. Pack; Mrs. C.H. Robinson; T.R. Gilbert; and Dick Wingfield.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Motion made by H.B. Pack, seconded by Dick Wingfield, that the Town repair the sidewalk on Lee-Grant Avenue at Mrs. Mealney's property. Motion carried.
Motion made by Dick Wingfield, seconded by Mrs. C.H. Robinson, That one street light be put on a pole to be selected by the street Committee. Motion carried.
Motion made by H.E. Pack, seconded by T.R. Gilbert; That the Town request the Highway Department to take over for maintenance and improvement Morton Lane, beginning at Court Street and running west 1320 feet, by June 30, 1964; also to take over the rest of Morton Lane which is 565 feet, beginning July 1, 1964. Motion carried.
Motion made by T.R. Gilbert, seconded by Burke Guill, That the Town purchase 2 pairs pants and 2 shirts for Mr. White. Motion carried.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned to meet again on the regular meeting date of June 15, 1964.
