ref: reel020393 date: 1962-11-19 content: The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on November 19, 1962 at 7:30 P.M. with President Mrs. C.R. Robinson presiding. The following members were present: C. Lewis McDearmon, T.R. Gilbert, Burke Guill, H.B. Pack, and Ivey Holland.
The Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Motion made by H.B. Pack, seconded by Ivey Holland, and that the light pole be moved across Court Street at the Methodist Church. Motion carried.
Motion made by H.B. Pack, seconded by Ivey Holland, that a street light be installed on pole no. 218S on First St. Motion carried.
Motion made by T.R. Gilbert, seconded by C. Lewis McDearmon, that the recommendations of the Sanitary officer be approved as recommended by him for the Town dump, to be done when money is available. Motion carried.
Motion made by Ivey Holland, seconded by Burke Guill, the Council approved the purchase the land from Mr. E.O. Johnson on which we have an option, plus one more lot. Motion carried.
Motion made by H.B. Pack, seconded by C. Lewis McDearmon, that the Town give the Volunteer Fireman $5.00 each for Christmas for services rendered. Motion carried.
Motion made by Ivey Holland, seconded by Burke Guill, that the Town approve the installation of the Christmas lights. Motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
