A special meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's office on June 26, 1962 with Mayor S. R. Lawson presiding. The following members were present: Mrs. C. H. Robinson, H. E. Pack, T. R. Gilbert and C. Lewis McDearmon.
The meeting was called for the purpose of filling a vacancy on the Town Council.
Motion made by Mrs. C. H. Robinson, seconded by H. E. Pack, that the resignation of J. T. Almond as councilman be accepted. Motion carried.
Motion made by C. Lewis McDearmon that E. LeRoy Smith be appointed to fill the vacancy of J. T. Almond. No second to the motion.
Motion made by T. R. Gilbert, seconded by Mrs. C. H. Robinson, that Burke Guill be appointed to fill out Mr. J. T. Almond's term of office as councilman. Motion carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
