ref: reel020389 date: 1962-06-18 content: The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council met in the Mayor's office on June 18, 1962 at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor S. R. Lawson presiding. The following members were present: T. R. Gilbert, C. Lewis McDearmon, Ivey Holland, Mrs. C. H. Robinson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Motion made by C. Lewis McDearmon, seconded by Ivey Holland, that the Town give the contract to Dominion Tank & Iron Co., Petersburg, Va., to clean and paint the 30,000 gallon water tank. Motion Carried.
Motion made by Ivey Holland, seconded by C. Lewis McDearmon, that the Town get the Highway Department to put a curb around the Appomattox Court House Presbyterian Church and the Church re-imburse the Town for the cost. Motion Carried.
Motion made by Ivey Holland, seconded by C. Lewis McDearmon, that the Town co-sponsor with the County an ad with Jaycees not to exceed $30.00. Motion carried.
Motion made by Ivey Holland, seconded by Mrs. C. H. Robinson, that the Town furnish the materials and the Highway Department do the work in fixing the sidewalk at Mrs. Dressers on Church St. Motion carried. chunkid: 19873 recordid: 893 page_number: 1
