Motion was made by Dr. Lawson, seconded by Ivey Holland, that Robert Bray be employed as Town Policeman for a trial period of 60 days. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Dr. Lawson, seconded by Mrs. C. H. Robinson, that the Town put up a street light at the corner of North Avenue. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Ivey Holland, seconded by Randolph Gilbert, that the Town authorize Chas. F. P. Crawley to proceed with the preparation of a new Town Code. Motion carried.
Motion made by Ivey Holland, seconded by Mrs. C. H. Robinson, that the Town pick up wet garbage on Monday and Thursday of each week. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Dr. Lawson, seconded by Mrs. C. H. Robinson, that the Town extend until June 18, 1961, the franchise to the Central Virginia Gas Company. Motion carried.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned to meet again on the regular meeting date of July 18, 1960.

SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on July 11, 1960, at 7:30 P.M., with Mayor Chas. T. Moses, Jr., presiding.
The following members were present: Mrs. C. H. Robinson, J. T. Almond, Dr. S. R. Lawson, Randolph Gilbert and Ivey Holland.
A motion was made by Ivey Holland, seconded by J. T. Almond, that the Mayor and Town Manager work out the garbage problem. Motion carried.
Motion was made by Ivey Holland, seconded by J. T. Almond, that the Town employ Mr. J. C. Caldwell to make up the 1960 Tax List for the Town. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned.
