The Finance Committee met in the Town Manager's Office on December 17, 1959, at 7:30 P.M., to prepare the budget for the Town of Appomattox, for the year 1960. The members present were: Ivey Holland, Dr. S. R. Lawson, and Randolph Gilbert.
SPECIAL MEETING
A Special Meeting of the Town Council called for the purpose of approving the 1960 Budget for the Town of Appomattox was held on December 21, 1959. The following members were present: Ivey Holland, Dr. S. R. Lawson, Mrs. O.H. Robinson, H. B. Pack, and J. T. Almond.
A motion was made by Ivey Holland, seconded by Dr. S. R. Lawson, that beginning January 1, 1960, the Town charge $35.00 for each sewer tap and $15.00 for each 3/4 inch water tap and cost plus 10% in excess of 3/4 inch. Motion carried.
Motion was made by J. T. Almond, seconded by H. B. Pack, that the Town charge 1/3 of the State License fee for any coin operated machinery installed in the Unincorporated Limits. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Ivey Holland, seconded by Dr. S. R. Lawson, that the Town Budget for 1960 be approved. Motion carried.

JANUARY 1960
The regular meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on January 18, 1960, at 7:30 P.M., with Mayor Chas. T. Moses, Jr. presiding. The following members were present: H. B. Pack, Dr. S. R. Lawson, Ivey Holland, J. T. Almond, and Randolph Gilbert.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
A motion was made by Dr. Lawson seconded by Randolph Gilbert, that the Town charge on all coin operated machines the same as the State License as of January 1, 1960. Motion carried.
Motion was made by J. T. Almond, seconded by H. B. Pack, that the Town charge the Baptist Church the minimum for the water meter if the church shall pay all costs of the new line and water meter. Motion carried.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned to meet again on the regular meeting date of February 15, 1960.
