ref: reel020354 date: 1959-09-01 content: A special meeting of the Appomattox Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on September 1, 1959, at 7:30 P.M., with Mayor Chas. T. Moses, Jr., presiding. The following members were present: J. T. Almond, Mrs. C. H. Robinson, Dr. S. R. Lawson, Randolph Gilbert and Ivey Holland. A Motion was made by Dr. S. R. Lawson, seconded by J. T. Almond, That the condemnation proceedings against Mr. & Mrs. William W. Burke be deferred until further notice and that the special Town Attorney, Mr. Arthur B. Davies, III, be notified, also Mr. & Mrs. William W. Burke. Motion carried. Motion was made by J. T. Almond, seconded by Randolph Gilbert, That the Town Council declare a 60 day Holiday on the Parking meters depending on the interpretation of the Town Attorney on September 9, 1959. Motion carried.
