ref: reel020338 date: 1958-06-16 content: The regular meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on June 16, 1958 at 7:30 P.M. with Mayor Chas. T. Moses, Jr., presiding.
The following members were present: C. C. Poe, T. Hunter Dickerson, G. E. Smith, J. C. Caldwell, John S. Grinels, and C. Lewis McDearmon.
A motion was made by G. E. Smith, seconded by C. Lewis McDearmon, That any person constructing or repairing a building in the Town of Appomattox at a cost in excess of $1,000 must obtain a building permit from the Town of Appomattox. The town will have no responsibility of furnishing water or sewage to anyone who fails to obtain a permit. Motion carried.
Motion was made by C. Lewis McDearmon seconded by C. C. Poe, That the Town put in a sidewalk from G. B. Buchanan’s corner past the Church drive way. Motion carried.
Motion was made by T. Hunter Dickerson seconded by G. E. Smith, That a 30 ft. road be put in on the new right-of-way acquired from J. C. Caldwell from State Road 604 to the Town dump, and clear up approximately 3 acres. Motion carried.
Motion was made by G. E. Smith, seconded by C. Lewis McDearmon, That the Town appoint Mrs. Lucille Conner to write warrants for the Town of Appomattox at a cost of $1.00 each if she will agree to write them. Motion carried. chunkid: 19822 recordid: 842 page_number: 1
