ref: reel020330 date: 1957-11-04 content: A Special Meeting of the Appomattox Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on November 4, 1957, at 7:30 P.M., with Mayor Chas. T. Moses, Jr. presiding. The following members were present: J. C. Caldwell, T. Hunter Dickerson, John S. Grinels, C. C. Poe, G. E. Smith and C. Lewis McDearmon.
The purpose of the meeting was to decide what to do about the parking lot that the Town had leased from Sam Ferguson and others.
A Motion was made by John S. Grinels seconded by J. C. Caldwell, that the Town of Appomattox release the option on the lot owned by S. L. Ferguson, Rachel P. Lawson, Russell F. Wagers dated October 28, 1957. Motion carried.
Motion was made by J. C. Caldwell, seconded by T. Hunter Dickerson, that the Town of Appomattox purchase a car from the State of Virginia at the lowest price possible. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned.
