ref: reel020312 date: 1956-02-27 content: SPECIAL MEETING A special meeting of the Appomattox Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on February 27, 1956, at 8:30 A.M., with Mayor Richard D. Robinson presiding. The following were present: J. F. Caldwell, W. S. Gillis, T. Hunter Dickerson, G. E. Smith, J. T. Irby, and Mrs. C. H. Robinson.
The meeting was called for the purpose of making arrangements to repair the small 30,000 gallon water tank. Mr. Lindsey from the Dixie Tank & Bridge Company was present to give the Council an estimate of the needed repairs.
A motion was made by W. S. Gillis, seconded by J. T. Irby that the Town of Appomattox accept the supplemental contract of Dixie Tank & Bridge Co., to make the repairs on the small 30,000 gallon Town Water Tank as authorized in the contract not to exceed $2516.00, also to secure some one to inspect the tank for the Town. Motion carried.
