ref: reel020304 date: 1955-04-19 content: APRIL 1955 The regular meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on April 19, 1955, at 7:30 P.M., with President Chas. T. Moses, Jr., presiding. The following members were present: G. E. Smith, C. G. Poe, J. T. Almond and Mrs. C. H. Robinson.
A Motion was made by G. E. Smith, seconded by J. T. Almond, that we call Bowman Lock Company in Lynchburg to come down here and fix our safe. Motion carried.
Mrs. W. R. Reynolds requested a street light in front of her store. This was turned over to the Street Committee for their recommendation.
S. B. Marshall was granted a permit to build a double store on Main Street at an approximate cost of $5,000.00.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned to meet again on the regular meeting date in May.
