ref: reel020287 date: 1953-11-16 content: The regular meeting of the Town Council met in the Mayor's Office on November 16, at 7:30 P.M., with Chas. T. Moses, Jr, President of the Council presiding.
The following members were present: J. T. Almond, G. E. Smith, D. A. Christian, III, and Mrs. C. H. Robinson.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read.
A motion was made by J. R. Almond seconded by G. E. Smith; that the proposed street starting on Lee Street at Mrs. J. R. Lawson's over to Court Street be referred to the Street Committee for their recommendation. Motion carried.
A motion was made by G. E. Smith seconded by J. T. Almond, that the Town donate $25.00 to be added to the reward fund offered to bring about the information for the capture of the guilty person who murdered Jerald M. Harvey. Motion carried.
Motion made by G. E. Smith seconded by D. A. Christian that the Town Manager put up a "No Parking" sign in front of Wallace Haley's Store the proper distance from the corner. Motion carried.
Motion made by Mrs. C. H. Robinson seconded by G. E. Smith that C. J. Hunter, Town Manager, be appointed to write warrants for the Town of Appomattox. Motion carried.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned to meet again on the regular meeting date of December 21, 1953.
