ref: reel020271 date: 1952-08-25 content: The regular meeting of the Appomattox Town Council was held in the mayor's office on August 25, 1952, with Mayor G. B. Buchanan presiding. The following members were present: J. E. Jamerson, Chas. F. James, C. T. Moses, Jr., J. T. Almond, and Mrs. C. H. Robinson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved as read. A Motion was made by J. E. Jamerson, seconded by Mrs. C. H. Robinson, that Lucy Street and part of Mattox Street be taken over by the State Highway Department. Motion carried. (See attached resolution) Motion was made by Chas. F. James, seconded by Mrs. C. H. Robinson, that the police uniform we have be exchanged for a larger one if possible. Motion carried. A Motion was made by Chas. F. James seconded by C. T. Moses, Jr., that a 4 in., water line be put in from near the big water tank to Carver High School as soon as possible. Motion carried.
